Kate Tavella
Founding team member
Kate Tavella is an investor at Spectrum Equity, a former Georgetown University distance runner, and a founding team member of Elevate.
Kate competed on Georgetown’s Division I cross country and track teams while earning a joint degree in Business and Global Affairs. She also served as a mentor with The Grassroot Project. Today, she works with founders of growing software and data businesses at Spectrum Equity in San Francisco.
Sports have shaped how Kate leads, communicates, and uses her voice. Her high school track coach was a woman who remains a close mentor, and her college coach understood the differences in coaching men and women. Both helped her build confidence beyond running. Through WCA, she is excited to help college-aged women build that same confidence and develop coaching and leadership skills they can carry into their careers and communities.
Kate comes from a running family, including two sisters who also competed in Division I cross country and track. She lives in San Francisco and continues to train and compete with the Olympic Club’s running team.
